I have a lifelong affair with books and reading. It can get very expensive, particularly when you are a fast reader. First I discovered remaindered books. (Here in Canada they do not mark these books, so you get a perfect copy.) Then I discovered auctions and estate sales. I now have books in the house that I have not read! However I am running out of room. The other people in the house need a little space, although they enjoy living in a used bookstore! You never know what you might find.
Now that I have also discovered Ebay, I have found the perfect solution. I am enjoying being a seller as well as a reader. All books are cleaned, given covers for their dust jackets and well packaged. I have a mailbox out front and ship promptly. Books may be returned for a full refund of the purchase price. (Although I cannot imagine that you will be disappointed.)
My daughter is a fantastic artist, currently at Art College in Toronto. She has a shop where she sells her art as well as books. I have some of her prints and cards for sale as well. She is influenced by Arthur Rackham and Aubrey Beardsley. This ties in with my collection of children’s books.
You can view her art at www.richardsonillustration.com
I collect many kinds of books but find it hard to part with most of them. There are billiards books, science fiction, mysteries, novels and Canadiana along with the children’s books and a little bit of whatever I find interesting.
Please feel free to browse. Sometimes I get carried away at the auctions when the price is irresistible and pick up more than books.
Canada Post is very expensive but I like flat fees so I know the total price. I will gladly combine shipping, so the price will be a better one, and welcome want lists.
