Welcome to My World

My Name is Betty better known on eBay as bluangel13 After being on eBay since April 1999 as a buyer and starting as a seller at the end of September 1999, I have decided it is time to welcome you to "MY WORLD" When I first started selling on eBay I dealt mainly in baby clothes both new and gently used. These items were clothes that our granddaughter, Sarah had outgrown and also some nearly new given to us by friends, whose kids had out grown them as well. I have been sewing since I was about ten years old. When I was about eleven or twelve a group of mothers of seven and eight year old girls asked me to teach their daughters how to sew. So I taught about five girls every Saturday for the summer holidays. Over the years I have sewn a lot of my own clothes and when my two daughters came along I began sewing their clothes. I also got into some craft items such as soft sculpture, macrame, crochet and clothes for cabbage patch dolls. Needless to say, I accumulated a lot of fabric that did not get used for one reason or another. As my supply of baby clothes for sale dwindled, I decided to start auctioning some of my fabric, both vintage and modern. We have now have found a few fabric sources geared to dolls, babies and children, as well as upscale fabrics and of course, quilting fabrics. When available, we also carry doll supplies and an array of other items, such as lace and ribbon, trims and unused gifts. Last year we moved to a smaller home and now fabric presents a problem!! The basement is full of huge bins of fabric, trims, ribbon and still more is in the closed "guest" bedroom. I would say we have over 50 large tubs of fabric now. The past year and a half has been very bad with sickness and pain so this is the reason why we were gone so long! I suffer from fibromyalgia, chronic fatique, fibro fog, panic attacks and high blood pressure, etc. There are days when getting out of bed are almost impossible. Anyone who has this DD will know what I mean. I don't like to talk about it, but at this time, I feel my customers need to know. Mike is always here working auctions, packing, invoicing, P.O. runs, etc. So not a problem there. It's with the listings, he does not like to do them! I even get tongue-tied with listings! lol On a happier note, we are proud to announce the birth of yet another grandson Hunter, weighing in at 9 lbs. 6oz. born May 5th, 1007 to our youngest daughter, Melanie. Now she has "my 3 sons". Our total is 2 grandaughters both 8, and grandsons 6, 4, 2, and newborn. That's all for now!! I must add on here that we are happy to be back on eBay and we welcome back all our former customers and welcome all our new visitors!! Sarah (03 Oct 98)is Devin's sister and Brooke (03 July 98) is Coby's sister. Here are my three oldest Grandchildren in the picture on the right. Back right is Sarah who will be 5 years old on 3 Oct 2003. Back left is Brooke who turned 5 years old on 3 July 2003 and front and center is Coby who turned 2 years old on 25 June 2003. Absent from this picture was Devin. Below are my three grandsons, Coby is on the left, Devin on the right and front and center is Owyn. I will be adding recent pictures of all our Grandchildren soon. I take pride in my feedback and I try to be fair and reason with people who disbelieve their shipping costs. This seems to be a problem within Canada. It is very costly to ship within our own country and alot less to ship elsewhere. This does not seem right to me, nor is it fair. So please, if you are in Canada, email us before you bid for your shipping costs. When your shipping costs are quoted, they are taken directly from Canada Post's website. We do not fabricate an amount for you as some people seem to think. We have been known to give folks' rebates if we charge the incorrect amount. This brings us back to the feedback topic. All my neutral and negative feedback was left because of postal rates being too costly. There are some people who understand and others we try to please by cancelling their auctions. Those who do not believe us, only have to check the Canada Post website for themselves. We will gladly give them their package weight and measurements and instructions on how to do so. When a parcel leaves our hands, once again we are at the mercy of not only Canada Post, but also the International services and customs to see that your parcel arrives at its' destination in a timely fashion. We try to please in every way possible, and when someone leaves me neutral or negative feedback for something which I have no control over, is not fair and really hurts. I truly enjoy what we do on ebay, and I have met so many nice people from many walks of life, some whom I correspond with regularily. So, please, if you harbour bitterness, please don't take it out on me. Our customers are our priority, we listen to your wants and needs and do our best to please you all! Thank you........... It is with heavy heart that I write this next line. My dear Dad passed away on July 12th,2008 after a fall breaking his leg and developing pneumonia while in hospital. He was 92, still at his home and still driving, a good man. I miss him dearly as does Mike.
