  Lest We Forget

Lest we forget! These words are everywhere

etched on a cenotaph in each town square,

to help us remember what they had to give

to keep this land Free, right here where we live.

There are those that say, it’s time we forgot

The truth and the reason for which they fought.

It seems a high price that they had to pay.

For the Freedom we all take for granted today!

Let’s not forget the soldiers who gave their best

In a time of turmoil and the gravest of threats.

One day. Just one day has been set aside

To remember for our sake they suffered and died.

November eleventh is the day we stand tall,

And take pride in the ones who fought for us all.

Let’s always remember the lives that were lost.

Let’s never forget, the brave ones who fought.

The Fathers and Sons those men tried and true,

who gave their lives for me and for you,

And to keep us a Country where everyone’s free

I’ll Always remember!  Don’t you Agree!
