Palm Help Pages and Support
Important Please Read before use of your Palm
Please make sure that you palm warms up before use during the Winter months and when being delivered.
Many delivery trucks are not internally heated to keep parcels from freezing or from extreme external temperature changes.
The units screens have a Liquid Crystal Display that should be allowed to warm up as not to cause any damages to the palm's lcd screen.
As the market for this product is mainly PC based we do not support MAC Platform computers and their operating systems.
We hope that buyers will read the manuals for the items that they have received which is located on the cd rom before emailing us with setup issues.
In the future we will no longer be providing FREE tech support for our products.
Many of the related issues that we have received could have easily solved if users would read how to use the products they purchased.
We should not be expected as a company to resolve any issues unless they are product defects for free as we sell on Ebay or face a negative feedback.
The company Palm charges $50 to $150 per call for their services.
We should not endure the costs as a company for user error or setup related problems due to buyers not reading how to use the products they purchased properly.
These palm products are not plug and play.
We except our buyers to understand that they must read and endure some product education before contacting us for information that is contained in the user guide that is on the cd rom's provided with many models.
Palm Manuals and Instructions
We provide an instruction manual that is located on the cd rom that you received with the palm if it is indicated in the auction.
The drivers and manual will be on the same cd rom.
Please make sure that your computer's cd rom is compatible with windows operating systems to read the cd rom properly.
Reset instructions
Sometimes palms will require the memory to be cleared, as there may be programming conflicts from existing software on a computer or the palm.
Palms also require the memory to be cleared due to they may need to be reset after they have been in travel and delivery.
This will also remove any information that may be on the palm that may need to be cleared.
Soft Reset of the palm
Press the reset button on the back of the palm then follow the instructions for setup.
Hard Reset Instructions
This is done by pressing the power and reset buttons at the same time
Release the reset button while still holding the power button.
It will ask if you want to clear the memory.
Then realign the screen and try the writing area again.
Palm Graffiti and palm writing
Here is link for the proper writing style required for palm handheld units.
Many of our buyers have requested this to become more informed of the proper writing needed when using the palms writing areas.
The palm has a unique writing style required and do not work using standard conventional writing.

Charging and USB Connections
If you have received a palm with a USB cable the palm will have to be charged in a running computer to charge the battery.
All palms with internal batteries must be charged for 8 to 12 hours before use, as to charge the battery properly.
Rechargeable batteries that are internal in palm units have a resident memory and require proper charging as to not deplete the battery or cause incorrect charging procedures.
Incorrect or improper charging will result in decreased battery life on palms with internal rechargeable batteries.
If you have received a palm with a cradle and wall charger the cradle will have an outlet in the cradle or in the usb cable.
You must plug the wall charger into the wall to charge the palm.
The manufacturers cradles or aftermarket cradles that we sell with many of our models as specified in our auctions contents for the sale do not charge the palm without the wall charger (m130, m500 series, Tungsten T T2 T3)
If you have purchasedd palm palm with a USB charging cable connector make sure your USB ports are enabled on your computer.
Also make sure that you USB ports are not running multiple USB driven products (ie Camera Mp3 Player, Cell phone , Printer, Scanner, ETC )
These products or devices may cause connection issues for your palm as your computer will not see the palm that you are trying to install, and this will cause conflicts as many of these items have similar programming and functions.
If the palm does not hotsync to the palm desktop and still charges, then it is not the palm it is the users computer having a conflict in the programming.
Remove all previous palm programs on the computer or setup a new user in the tools section of the palm desktop.
The palm would not beep when plugged into charge if it was not working using the USB hotsync charging cable.
You may experience a palm not charging using the computers USB ports while the computer is running as you have not installed the software before connecting the palm to the computer, or the usb ports have a conflict in programming.
If you are running a laptop it may not have enough power running through the USB ports to charge the palm.
Software Installation Instruction and setup
When first receiving your palm please make sure that any existing palm software that has been installed on a computer is removed.
Remove all previous palm programs on the computer or setup a new user in the tools section of the palm desktop.
In some cases with newer and older models of palms you cannot run various models of palms using tha palm desktop.
All palms have various internal functions ( ie digitial cameras, bluetooth, wifi, mp3 players, card reader, lcd screen resolution differences internal memory size, etc ) that are not compatable with each other.
These different internal design functions will cause programming conflicts and will potentially lock up the palm when hotsyncing to the palm desktop.
Do not hook the palm up to the computer until all of the software installations are completed, as this will cause a conflict in the proper installation of the palm.
The computer will not see the palm properly of install the required drivers from the palm, as is the required sequence of a proper palm desktop software installation or the palm devices installation procedure.
You may experience conflicts in programming, as various palm units use different features and palm programming.
If you have a palm that is the same model as the unit that you purchased you will have to setup an additional user profile in the Tools section of the palm desktop and create a new profile for the new palm.
You may also see a conflict in the transfer of programming, as the palm desktop software is time and date sensitive for the palm and existing palms.
If you are replacing a broken or damaged palm with another palm the desktop software may not transfer over to the new palm.
The existing data is from the old palm and the palm desktop software is looking for the old palms serial numbers, which is a data signature that the data has been synced.
Upgrading or downgrading of a palm to another model Palm
If you are replacing a palm to another model you will have to remove the existing software from your computer, as this will cause conflicts with the programming.
This may cause the palm to freeze or not work properly. The various Palm models that we sell were design with different programming and internal components in various newer models.
(faster processors, more memory, less memory or built in features such as cameras, WIFI, Bluetooth, ETC…)
Charging Instructions
Please make sure that when you receive your palm that has an internal battery that the unit is charged for 8 hours before use.
The palms with internal batteries have a resident memory in the battery like any other rechargeable battery.
Improper charging decreases the life of the battery and will affect the use of the palms battery life.
Battery recommendations and Installation
Please make sure that the batteries that you are using are new batteries and a premium brand battery for you battery operated devices.
Inexpensive batteries will seem like a bargain but you put yourself at risk of losing your data due to a less expensive poor life battery.
Make sure that the batteries are installed properly as many times we have experienced buyers installing batteries improperly.
There is a diagram in the battery compartment of all battery operated devices that will show the proper installation of batteries.
Software upgrades
Some of the palms that we presently sell may require a software upgrade from the manufacturer due present Windows operating software (Windows XP and Vista)
Windows Compatibility
Please check the palms software for compatibility with XP and Vista and many used palm were manufactured before these programs were released and may not be support by palm to work with these operating systems.
