Most buyers believe that a 4 star rating is a good rating, however, that is simply not the case. Ebay says a 4 star rating is good, but that is an untruth. If you have a score of even 4.3, a seller can lose their ability to sell. So, while most buyers think a 4 star rating is a good rating because eBay says it is so, it really isn't. Also, with a 5 Star rating, eBay will offer the seller discounts and with those discounts, we can pass them on to you, dear constant buyer.
Any STAR rating LESS than 5 is not considered good. This is why we STRIVE for a 5 STAR rating by offering you the following:
COMMIUNICATION is KEY to a 5 ***** Rating:
As soon as you win your auction, we send you an email to acknowledge your win. This email also provides you with payment info and our store hours and address in the event you would rather pick up your item and save on shipping costs.
Once your item is paid for, we send out a notice to confirm receipt of your payment and once your item has been shipped, we send you a notice confirming shipment. Also, if you pay using Paypal, we will also have an email sent to you with your tracking information.
If you have missed any of the above emails, then please contact us through eBay's, "Ask the Seller a Question" link or please check your inbox or even your trash folder as sometimes these emails can inadvertantly end up in your deleted folder.
All questions sent through eBay's "Ask the Seller a Question" link are answered in a timely fashion...because we understand communication is the key to success!
ITEM AS DESCRIBED: While we do everything we possibly can to ensure all descriptions are accurate, we may miss something (we are human, afterall). If there is anything wrong with the item that we did not describe, then please let us know. We have found buyers tell us the item is "much better than described" or even "EXACTLY as described" because we want to be as precise as we possibly can because we want you to feel confident in giving us a 5 STAR RATING for Item as Described and of course, we would like your repeat business. We write the condition of all items and rate them on a scale of 1 to 10 as we understand that Buyers don't want perfection on all items, unless, of course, perfection is implied.
SHIPPING and HANDLING TIME: Although we state we will ship within 2 days, 9 times out of 10 we ship the same or next business day as we know the wait for an item to arrive can seem like forever once you calculate the waiting for the auction to end, for the payment to be received (especially if it's an echeck which can sometimes take 10 days to clear) to finally, the mailman ringing your doorbell with your package. Please check the date on your package to see when we shipped your package and compare it to the day you paid. It can take up to 3 weeks for a package to arrive from Canada to the USA and even up to 2 weeks for a package to arrive within Canada. International shipments are a whole other can of worms and can sometimes take up to 4 weeks to arrive. Canada Post is only open on business days (although some locations accept packages on the weekends - your package will not physically be enroute to you unless it is a business day. You will see that we ship very fast! There are no hidden surprises and we even value the package with the exact amount you won it for - so no over-valued purchases. This service is deserving of a 5 Star Rating :)
SHIPPING CHARGES: Let's face it, nobody likes to pay shipping costs. It can sometimes take the joy out of winning an item for a very low amount. One major flaw about eBay's 5 Star rating system is that it allows buyers to rate sellers on the shipping charges. The same charges buyers AGREE to before buying. If you feel the charges are too much for the item, then please DON'T BUY it. If you do make the purchase, then only give 5 STARS as you chose to pay that amount. We didn't change the cost before or after - absolutely no hidden surprises.
UNDERSTANDING SHIPPING COSTS: We ship using Canada Post and their prices are based on weight x size x distance. To simplify shipping costs, we charge a flat rate with a minimum of $2 or $3 added in to cover our handling costs - that's it. 9 times out of 10 - it costs us MORE to ship within Canada than it does to the USA and that is because depending on the weight of an item, we can offer an extra service to our American neighbours that is not available for fellow Canadians. So, please, when rating us on the shipping costs, remember that you agreed to these costs before hand and in lieu of the aforementioned, a 5 STAR Rating would be accurate.
By bidding on any of our auctions, you agree to the following terms. All local pick ups are subjected to a non-refundable handling fee as specified in the auction detail. This handling fee is charged per item in the same currency as the auction (plus GST).
As a registered business within Ontario, we are obligated to collect 5% GST for all items shipped within Canada. Ontario residents must also pay an additional 8% PST. If you reside in any Province OTHER than Ontario - please do not pay for your item until we have invoiced you.
All items have been tested unless specified otherwise. We do our best to describe the item listed for sale. All items are final sales. Absolutely no returns, no refunds, no repairs and no exchanges. In the event we list an item incorrectly or we ship an incorrect item, we must be informed within 24 hrs of receipt. Once an item has been authorized for return and has been received in the exact same condition as shipped, it will become the discretion of redcellardoors to replace the said item as per the auction description or to issue a refund. In the event a refund is issued, it is understood it will be for the cost of the item and excludes any shipping, handling, duty and taxes or any other levys incurred. Buyer is responsible for any duty or taxes imposed upon a shipped or returned product.
