One Stop Shop for New & Affordable Camping Gear About the owner: I've been involved in Scouting for 19 years now (since I was a wee beaver) which has made me aware of the need for affordable quality gear for the price conscious consumer. I've paddled just about every corner of Ontario from Algonquin, to Poker Lake System, to Magnettewan, French, Mattawa rivers, and the Leslie Frost Centre area to the far reaches of Temagami and Lady Evelyn Smooth Water (now provincial parks :( ) I've travelled to test gear in Eastern Africa and Central America as well as backpacked the UK and parts of Europe. I have also camped in Banff, Eastern Canada and all over the USA (North & South Carolina, West Viginial, Vermont, Upstate New York, Pennsylvania, Utah, California, Arizona). About the company: More than just another faceless online company! In 2003 I founded ScoutTech - www.scouttech.com and Modern Tech Solutions on eBay was formed to help promote sales of the Chinook brand to a worldwide audience. Our goal as an online camping gear retailer was formed in response to the growing need to make camping in comfort (and all other forms of outdoor recreation for that matter) affordable for all (not everyone needs a $700 technical mountaineering tent and there wasn't much in between that and the Wal-Mart special on the market). On top of this we provide unparalleled support and dedicated customer service well after a transaction is complete. All of our staff have been personally using Chinook gear since the turn of the 21st century and know the products inside and out. In fact we borrow or buy samples to test for just about every product before we even put it up for sale for the first time (who doesn't love using any excuse they can find to go on another adventure!!) to make sure it's a product we'd use ourselves. With that said we're well equipped to handle just about any question you can muster up and can recommend the right gear for your next adventure. We attend the Outdoor Adventure Show in Mississauga each year (http://www.outdooradventureshow.ca/toronto/index.html) and this is a great opportunity for you to come out and see many of our products on display.
