Vancouver, BC Beautiful fabrics have always been a fascination of mine ... a passion. After studying textiles and clothing design at a major university, I followed my heart into retailing and marketing. Today, many years later, I have returned to my first love - fabrics.

I am fortunate enough to live in the beautiful city of Vancouver which is located on Canada's west coast. Being a port of entry for shipments from Asia as well as the home for one of North America's largest South Asian communities, Vancouver affords me the opportunity to work with some of the continent's largest importers of Indian textiles.

All of the gorgeous Indian fabrics and garments that I am offering for sale on eBay have been individually hand-selected and inspected by myself to insure you get exquisite merchandise at exceptional value. Many items are one of a kind or exclusive to my suppliers, so you won't see them offered anywhere else.

Choli: A tight fitting blouse worn with a sari.

Dupatta: Veil, or scarf, worn with salwar kameez or lengha.

Field: The sari fabric, other than the pallu. Usually less patterned than, or in a complementary pattern to, the pallu.

Kameez: Cut and sewn top usually worn with salwar (trousers).

Pallu: The more highly patterned area at one end of the sari. Sometimes referred to as the endpiece or head piece. This end of the sari is worn over the shoulder when the sari is draped.

Salwar: Baggy trousers worn with the kameez (top).

Sari or Saree: The sari is a length of fabric measuring anywhere from 13 to 26 feet (although 18 feet is most common) by about 4 feet, which is draped around the body. Most of the fabric is pleated at the waist and then wound round to make a skirt, with the remaining few yards swept across the upper half of the body, covering at least one shoulder and sometimes veiling the head.

Zardozi: Embroidery using zari.

Zari: Gold-wrapped thread, usually a core silk or cotton thread around which is wound fine, flattened gilded silver wire. Found only on the most expensive saris. Gold-colored synthetic thread is more commonly used today.

All items are packaged with great care to ensure that they arrive in perfect condition. Delivery usually takes no more than 8-10 business days and some customers report getting their shipments in as little as 3-4 days.

Multiple purchases can be combined to reduce shipping costs. Save 50% on shipping and handling by combining more than one item. S/h for one item to the USA is $13.00 and only $6.00 more for each additional item. Canadian residents pay $10.50 for the first item and $6.00 for each additional item. Air mail s/h is $25.00 per item to Europe and Australia. Other destinations, please ask for a quote.

Insurance is included up to $100.00 value.

Canadian residents please add GST. BC residents add GST and PST.

All goods are guaranteed and if for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchase you may return it, within 7 days of receipt, and the full purchase price of the item, less a 15% restocking fee, will be refunded.
